Risk and management information for the Fair:

 

Hazardous substances

Risks
  • Solvents
  • Flammable substances
  • Explosives
  • Corrosive substances (acids, bases)
  • Oxidising agents (e.g. bleaches, peroxides)
  • Foods that could be contaminated or trigger allergic reactions (e.g. peanuts)
 
Management
  • No solvents, flammable of explosive substances, corrosives or oxidising agents allowed on display
 
 

Noxious organisms

Risks
  • Microorganisms (bacteria and fungi)
  • Animals
  • Poisonous plants
 
Management
  • No animals alive or dead
  • No poisonous plants
  • Food substances must be in an enclosed container
  • Any food substances containing to be clearly labelled
 
 

Electrical equipment

Risks
  • Uncertified equipment
  • Exposed electrical circuitry
 
Management
  • No uncertified or modified electrical equipment to be able to be plugged in to mains supply
  • Operating electrical equipment that is self contained may not exceed 12 volts
