CREST
is a nationwide award scheme to encourage student projects
in science and technology.
Many students use the CREST programme as a way of doing their science fair.
You can do projects individually or as part of a team.
CREST awards can be attempted at four different levels:
1st CREST-- for year 7 & 8 students
Bronze CREST-- for year 9-- 11 students
Silver CREST-- challenging projects for year 12-- 13
students
Gold CREST-- advanced projects for year 13 students who
already have achieved the Silver award.
Students taking on a CREST project follow some key steps
which help them achieve success.
CREST students ; do exploratory activities; have a consultant to help them; keep a log of
everything they do; have a progress check to keep them on
track; have criteria they must meet to gain their award.
CREST is not competitive. Every student who achieves the
criteria gains a CREST award.
