Research / Inquiry

Make a list of the things you are interested in. (pets, sports, hobbies, human behaviour, nature).

Is there something you have always wondered about? Have you done something at school you would like to research further?

For each thing on your list brainstorm with a friend, parent or teacher, for questions you could research.

Research steps

  1. Start a log/process diary to keep a record of your progress and keep notes.
  2. Do some background research around your chosen topic.
  3. Talk to your mentor to help you refine your research question.
  4. Create an outline of the things you want to cover.
  5. Use a wide variety of resources sources; inter net, library, people.
  6. Make notes on all the things in your outline.
  7. Write your first draft and have someone proof read it and offer advice. Check the judging criteria.
  8. Look for some appropriate images, graphs, quotes to add to your exhibit.
  9. Write your final draft.
  10. Assembly your exhibit board. Don't forget your log book.
